Before you start: ten quick questions

If you can answer “yes” to most of them, you are ready to start. If not, stages 1 and 5 will help you work through them.

  1. Do we have a goal shared by the community, the authority and partners?
  2. Do we know which decisions it will help make and who makes them?
  3. Does each partner have a clear, agreed role?
  4. Is there an agreement on who owns the data and what is published?
  5. Do we have people from the territory with paid time for fieldwork?
  6. Do we have someone who can review the ecological design and the identifications?
  7. Do our field records use the same fields the analysis platform will require?
  8. Do we know how data will get from the field to the computer if there is no signal?
  9. Are there agreed spaces to analyze the results together with the territory?
  10. Have we identified opportunities to sustain the project, such as local economies, financial instruments or public programs?
